So now I am confused. Why would a drug dealer spike his coke knowing that it will kill off his client base? His money maker. To me, it seems that if a dealer cuts his drugs with fentanyl, he is purposefully attempting to kill the very people that he wants to sell to. So confused. Please clarify.
Does fentanyl by itself give one a “high”? Why are people using it?
Thanks.

If you watch interviews with Black users, they LOVE the high from fentanyl.

For their money, there is nothing better.

I guess they are less risk averse than most. Dying only happens to other people, I guess.

Fentanyl is similar to heroin and morphine but 100-1000x more potent. So people use it to get high, for the euphoric feeling.

I agree, there seems to be little logic in killing your customers but I posited above perhaps the cocaine dealers think the customers will get addicted to the fentanyl and come back for more. Cocaine is addictive by itself but for people who just snort it, it’s fairly easy to come off it - the physical withdrawal is not the problem its the mental and emotional withdrawal that’s harder to deal with. But add fentanyl to cocaine and now you’re creating people with much stronger physical dependency - basically turning cocaine users into heroin addicts.

They're not trying to kill them. They're trying to give their customers a good high on the cheap.

Problem is, most drug dealers are not good pharmacists.
