That would make the most sense. Having pro athlete money gave him access to large amounts of cocaine. He probably built up a tolerance over time, requiring him to snort larger quantities. Got a batch spiked with fentanyl and it killed him.

That's what I was wondering.
Are people taking fentanyl knowing it is fentanyl, or do they think they're taking something else?
Not that it should matter much, taking any illegal drug is risky. But you'd think people would know better than to mess with fentanyl.
