"Accelerated training". Yeah, that's the way.
Send a variety of aircraft types, varying ages, varying maintenance levels and varying capabilities. Maybe even with some maintenance/support troops along with some simulators so you can cut the usual training death toll by at least a bit.
Drop the whole mess off on UKE pilots who've trained on ex-Red Air Force equipment, may/may not have any familiarity with their brand-new USAF birds at all and grandly claim you're going to have an effective air unit by means of "accelerated training".

They can talk "accelerated" all they please but MHO (plus a few years involved in training pilots) says they won't have people familiar enough to SAFELY start, taxi and shut down unfamiliar A/C in less than a couple days.
Effectively operate those same A/C in a combat environment?
MAYBE a couple months.
Oh, well. Even if they don't actually do much but mill around with all that fancy new equipment it'll make a really neat story line for CNN for a while.
Then the AF can ship 'em a couple B-2s and they can do the same scam with that bird.

I know less than nothing about aircraft or flying, and that sounded crazy to me. Do you think they are covering for sending our own troops in?
