I went to a Shake and Steak yesterday, the first time since Wuhan hit. They no longer have waitresses but have kiosks to order and pay for what you want. Credit & Debit cards, no cash, or at least I didn’t see cash as an option. Their double steak burger was still good.

I went to a Shake and Steak yesterday, the first time since Wuhan hit. They no longer have waitresses but have kiosks to order and pay for what you want.

This might save them yet. I like sit down service and I don't mind tipping for a good experience, but it doesn't work with Steak 'n Shake's price structure. The hybrid diner style/fast food approach won't make them enough money, so leap-frogging right to kiosks might do the trick. I hope they pull through in a rough environment.
