My son went on a Philmont trek 3 times as a teenager in the 1990s and I went as an adult leader on one of those trips. These young men had tested their mettle with a challenging backpack trip and were even more prepared to deal with an emergency situation because of their experience. Today's BSA is not the same as it was in my son's day in many ways yet the people involved still have the same life view on the best way to raise boys into young men. It is heartening that these young men understand their Oath and Motto - "Duty, Honor, Country".

Wonder why the dump truck driver thought that he could play “Beat the Train”?

Nice to see get the Boys Scouts get some positive media attention for once. Can’t remember the last article I read about them that didn’t mention sex abuse lawsuits.

I want to know how Mexico knows how many Illegal Aliens were in that truck?
They are spinning this so called president Biden to a new level.
Biden is the worst of the worst pieces of work we have had as a POTUS.
He does not even know where he is right now.
We are going to have the biggest red wave come through in just 4 momths.

I was a Cub and Boy Scout, and I can say it was a great introduction to becoming a man.

Glad to see that some scouts have held on to the old teachings.

the two groups of Scouts broke windows and helped pull people out of train cars. They also used their advanced first-aid training to help injured passengers before first responders arrived
Emergency crews yes, but first responders? almost never the first to respond.
Another example of the left bastardizing the language

I had three sons who were Boy Scouts, now in their 20s. My oldest (who stuck with BSA the longest) credits his BSA training for being a pro at camping at music festivals, lol.
He gets there early, sets up the site, and his non-BSA buddies show up way late, grateful someone knows what to do and how to camp.
My son also brings a shovel to the beaches that allow driving right on the sand and has dug out many people who didn’t deflate their tires enough.
He is an expert camper—his Troop didn’t even use tents—only tarps (he hates those now though).
I’m going to forward him this article; great yes to hear something about BSA other than sex offenses and wokeness.

As I heard this on the news this morning, this old Eagle Scout thought, “Yeah, that sounds like some old school scouts.” Good for them.
I feel bad for the kid that was trying to help the guy who died. That’s gotta be rough on a kid.

Bravo to those Boy Scouts. I’m glad they were safe, but I’m wondering, how did the media know they were boys? 🤓
