I heard about a drunk driver going up on a sidewalk, many years ago, and killing someone’s little daughter.

Would it be bad if there was divine intervention to prevent things like that?

Perhaps divine intervention to divert the car?

It would be good

But things aren’t good.

They will be good when the world is over. Good for God’s people anyway.

But right now we live in a sin cursed world and it’s results are death

God knows the beginning from the end and where do you draw the line at how much intervention is enough.

How can it be best for a little girl to have her life cut short?

In our limited understanding, we can’t answer that. God is the only one who can. You’ll have to take it up with Him.

There is only one verse of Scripture that I have ever found that addresses that issue.

Isaiah 57:1-2 57 The righteous man perishes, and no one lays it to heart;
devout men are taken away, while no one understands.
For the righteous man is taken away from calamity; he enters into peace;

The other verse, one that God actually gave me to share with a friend before a tragedy hit them, is this….

Romans 8:18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.
