My favorite disaster song is The Wreck of the Shenandoah by Vernon Dalhart, which is about a 1925 airship crash. Dalhart sang a lot of songs about disasters including The Sinking of the Great Titanic, The Wreck of the Old 97 and The Mississippi Flood.
