Women are threatening not to have sex with men in protest of the Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.
Pro-choice supporters continued to rally through the weekend, now with calls on women to withhold sex from men 'until abortion rights are federal law' as calls for a nationwide sex strike also gain momentum on social media.
Protests erupted on Friday following the court's ruling to overturn women's federal right to abortions, with 26 states expected to further restrict or outright ban abortions.
'Women of America: Take the pledge. Because SCOTUS overturned Roe v. Wade, we cannot take the risk of an unintended pregnancy, therefore, we will not have sex with any man — including our husbands — unless we are trying to become pregnant,' one Twitter user wrote.
'I live in New York and I am DOUBLE FURIOUS with the Supreme Court. I want to find people who are coordinating a mass sex strike. That is our power,' another woman raged. 'Women have the power here. No more sex until abortion rights are federal law.'
There were also calls for 'sex strike' across the country as terms including #SexStrike and #abstinence began trending online.
Another supporter wrote on Twitter: 'Womxn! Calling for a national #sexstrike ✊ No sex with men until women's rights are codified by law. #Allmen #Underhiseye.'
'Perhaps a #sexstrike (also known as #abstinence) would help the men folk to be all in on this #womensrights issue,' another Twitter wrote.
Others posted a graphic that read: #SexStrike. If our choices are denied, so are yours.'

I was tslking with a woman shop owner in a small semi-rural town. I at some point wondered why so many of the local women were obese and unattractive. She said, “Because it hurts less when their husbands beat them.” What can a woman do when her husband comes home drunk 5 or 6 times a week and insists on sex and threatens to beat her if she says no. We will need a lot of clarification on the marital rape issue in coming years.
Almost 2,500 years later and people are still relying on the Greeks for interesting political ideas.
See: https://www.worldhistory.org/Lysistrata/
Lysistrata had the right idea when men were behaving badly.. It is too bad so many men think recreational sex is just fine, but women need to be careful. Will this legal change result in more laws requiring financial support from careless men who create children carelessly? If laws can be passed to require less carelessness for shooting guns, why not for carelessness of men shooting their wads.
Did you ever hear the old Army saying: “This is your rifle, this is your gun, one is for shooting, the other for fun.” No wonder men have such dumb ideas about responsibility, promoted by the State.
The pajama boy “guys” they hang out with probably won’t notice.
“full 30 days of ashes and sackcloth for them to look forward to annually.”
Listen to this person. They speak truth
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
This is why women leave men and the feminist movement gained so much traction.
Women simply don’t like being used either for sex or as a punching bag.
A woman can tell if a man, even if it’s her own husband, is using her.
Sex means something different for women. There’s far more emotional factors in play than it being just physical gratification. A lot of men simply don’t get that and don’t seem interested in understanding it.
This one does like him, but I’d still love to have The Great One back. The world is poorer without him.
Understood, but that’s what makes life special.
Then there are the women who don’t leave the men who are abusing them because they fear they, and possibly their children, will be hunted and killed for leaving. And there are the women who do leave their man and ARE killed for doing so. Statistically, woman are most likely to be killed when they try to leave.

This link discusses serious examples of abusive and murderous behavior, and then some successful methods to prevent this.
I had a daughter in a similar situation. Long unhappy story.
I understand that happens and that is a horrible complicating factor.
These “men” need to be dealt with somehow. I don’t know the answer to this one.
gleeakin, are you saying there is a whole town full of unattractive and obese women who are that way because their husbands are alcoholics and threaten to beat them every night because they refuse sex?
And that you gleaned this information from a female shopowner in conversation, after observing the prevalence of obese and unattractive women in this town before walking into the store and beginning a conversation?
Honestly, any kind of rape, marital or otherwise, is something that should be considered, but that anecdote is going to raise more questions than it answers, IMO.
I am not saying rape, marital or otherwise doesn’t happen becasue...it does. I just don’t understand how that kind of anecdote is going to bring about rational discussion.
I have owned a cottage in that town since 1976, so it was not an off the cuff remark. The men are often lean from physical labor, not white collar work. I have been noticing the overabundance of obese women there for many years, as has the elderly shop owner. I have chatted with her on several occasions. Since she lives there full time she gets to hear personal confidences, while I am only remarking on what I have seen for decades.
Fair enough, from your original post, you didn’t specify it was your town, and I suppose I can understand while there might well be valid reasons for that.
The point is, your anecdote makes it appear there is an epidemic, even if in just that small town. It brings to mind that correlation does not equal causation.
And there are far too many people in an emotionally charged subject like this who would completely disregard that and extrapolate it from a town of 2000 people to a country of 330 million, and wouldn’t give a second thought doing so if it furthered their agenda.
And in the case of abortions due to rape, I believe they do that kind of thing on the Left already.
We should be cognizant of that.
the Patriarchy wins again.
My primary residence is in a city. Therefore the comparison seems valid, based on people I see. Obesity is a widespread problem, I may check to see if there are statistics for various kinds of communities.
Obesity is most certainly a problem in our society...I couldn’t be more in agreement.
I tried the pill when I was married and in my 20s. After 3 days of vomiting I gave up. Five years later when I was pregnant with my first I felt nauseus and close to vomiting for 7 months every day. Between that child and the second, I read Adelle Davis’ books Let’s Eat Right to Keep Fit, and Let’s Have Healthy Children. One, or maybe both said that Vitamin B6 was good for seasickness and other vomiting disorders. I took 25 mg. of B6 every day of the second pregnancy, and had no nausea except the one day I forgot to take my vitamins. It also kept me from getting vaginal candida which had given my first child Thrush at birth.
We reverted to condoms, which had not been a problem except one day using a condom that had been on on the car’s dashboard during a spell of really hot weather. Of course, there are men who cannot keep it hard while pulling out. For women who are not very responsible or with men who are not responsible, on of the internal barrier methods or occasional hormone injections can be quite protective. This can be encouraged by a worried mother and a trip to the doctor. Remember, even rape and incest with 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, and other illegally young women may not result in permission for an abortion. Working as a counselor, I had several adult clients who had been raped as young as 2 years old, or in their very early teens. You as a man perhaps would never think to do something like that, but it is an ugly world out there, which is why women are SO ANGRY.
Actually there are quite a lot of things women and their male friends can do:
1) Strengthen paternal responsibility laws for unplanned or even planned pregnancies.
2) Have vulnerable youngsters provided with some long term form of protection by their doctors.
3) Campaign actively for candidates who support them, and vigorously against those who do not.
4) Strengthen laws on statutory rape, and financial responsibility, as well as prison sentences.
The next 4 months will probably see a lot of really loud and committed campaigning for law changes and “better” candidates.
