There might not be a huge impact on the total number of abortions but it is a death knell for late term abortions. Congress once the Republicans gain control will attempt to ban third trimester abortions and the left will sue to black the legislation. Then one of two things will happen. Either the Supreme Court will allow congress to legislate abortion nationally or they will rule congress does not have an enumerated power in the constitution that allows them to make abortion law. I’d bet on the later and the left becoming even more enraged that their own law suit screwed them on not just this but likely a bunch of other issues as well.

Yep. And as pointed out by others, the Mississippi law they were challenging here is LESS restrictive of abortion than the law in France.

For over 49 years since Roe v. Wade they COULD HAVE had first trimester abortions without restriction, but they weren't happy with that.

They had to expand the evil practice up until the moment of birth and even beyond. They had to push to drive health care workers out of their profession if they refused to participate. They had to show the whole public just how rotten, evil and unwilling to compromise that they were.

And now, the worm has turned.
