The gun used in the shooting was registered to the homeowner, who is cooperating with authorities, WTIC reported.

April McAbee seems unduely concerned that her readers understand that the firearm used in home defense was legal - almost as much as the other facts of the story - when in fact the weapon's legal status has no bearing on the story. She has an obsession.

Connecticut law does not require registration of firearms, but all sales must go through federal firearms license holders.

The state is listed as "may issue" but about 10% of adults have a carry license.

There is a difference between “may” and “shall” issue but it isn’t clear to me. Would you be able to explain it?

And one more question,.... does the recent Supreme Court ruling have any bearing on this case?
