I dont believe the vast majority were duped.
Not given the feminist movement then. And the free love bs going on
And given that families were much more intact
And given the church had more moral influence in society in general.
I velieve most believed what they wanted to believe, and it was a rationalization they wanted to believe because it got them off the hook. But I don’t think anyone neeeded a great deal of convincing. Not at the time of the country then.
The country AND WOMEN were deceived.
First it was abortions would be safe, legal and RARE.
We were told that untold women were getting dirty, undoubtedly fatal back alley abortions and there was no alternative except for legal abortions.
And then the realization is that now 50% of every abortion is a repeat abortion. Let that sink in.
It turned out it wasn’t about RARE abortions it was about REPEAT abortions.
Women were told, then and now, REPEATEDLY, that abortion is just getting rid of a clump of cells. They ARE NOT TOLD that they are terminating the life of a living individual with unique DNA.
Yeah, many women today (with advanced ultrasound capabilities undeniably identifying that a fetus is alive) still don’t understand that a fetus is a live human with unique DNA because of the Roe v Wade culture that exists. And is being torn down as we message.
Praise God.
“I dont believe the vast majority were duped.”
I agree. They weren’t duped. They knew exactly what they were doing. Many forms of birth control were available, including abstainance. Convenient abortions were just an extension of “if it feels good, do it”.
