Certain classic owners, especially those with rare, irreplaceable cars, drive them very little. Heck, some are trailer queens that arten't really driven at all, and they bring down the average.

My '65 Chrysler 300 2 door hardtop coupe was an everyday driver in the early oughts. So were my '66 Darts. My wife (who was then 23 years old and quite striking got lots of looks, especially in the 300).

The study is flawed, but yes if you track all the CO2 generated in manufacture and use, ICE cars are still greener by a long shot. Not even counting the battery generated waste. But who really cares, cars are about image and making yourself feel good about you.
