How do 6 and 8 year olds get matches and gasoline and go unsupervised long enough such that they can set things on fire in the yard?

I was, and I did a lot of crazy and dangerous things. That said, I was a latch-key kid and probably generally had a lot less supervision than many kids. I am also a father, and I would hope all of us would try our best to avoid this kind of scenario. I'm not pointing fingers.
