Exactly my point. The article was vapid for not facing the probability.

A probability that is ignored by most of the people on this thread as well.

The South fought the largest army in the world for four years and lost but had they won they would have suddenly been gobbled up by a European power. Yeah riiiight...

The claim that it would have been "gobbled up", absolutely did not make any sense to me either.

Europe would have had a lot harder time fielding an army over here than did the Northern states.

You are likely correct, but if the Confederate states had been able to make and model an example of States rights, those in the North/Union may have demanded the same.
