I read area residents have to take care their dog doesn’t chomp on local toads due to severe toxic reactions.
Sounds like the cane toads then, they're very toxic and will kill dogs. They're invasive too, Florida is getting over run by them.
Sister and brother-in-law lived in Honduras in early 70's (He was from there) and they lost both a German Shepherd and their Dobermann that were poisoned by cane toads.......
