After you get it up and running and everything seems to work ok, be sure to do a firmware update. I would wait a few days to do this to make sure your internet connectivity is stable. You don’t want to lose your internet connection while doing a firmware update. It will tell you if you need an update in the upper right hand corner of the web interface to the modem.

Thanks for the advice. I was thinking of trying to find an ASUS cable modem as well but I haven’t researched that yet. Since the new standard is DOCSIS 3.1, my older modem is obsolete and I hate the way the Netgear router I got interfaces with routers. If you have any suggestions I’m all ears. Thanks again.
