Different story if the "overwhelming proof" convinces someone, *anyone*, in a position of authority. Where the stakes of a decision are greater than pushing "send" in a browser.
Instead of relying on "a person in authority" to be convinced, it's better for one to examine the facts themselves, apply some critical thought and come to their own conclusion.
