“With the ban on plastic bags it’s harder to carry those big paper bags so they wheel it as far as they can”

Here they banned the old plastic bags, which PO’d me, but they replaced them with heavier gauge plastic bags that are actually better for carrying. Haven’t seen one rip yet.

Just to be clear. The company you worked for put chrome or chrome-like plating on BBQ grill coating surfaces? The cooking surface on our buck fifty cent BBQ grill is cast iron. The warming rack above it might have some sort of chrome like coating.

Our range appears to have chrome plated baking racks but you don’t actually cook directly on them. You always have a cookie sheet, muffin pan, loaf pan, roasting pan, etc. that the food product is in actual contact with.

Today, the many styles of cooking pans are either bare metal or have a food safe nonstick coating. You may recall that, in the days of King Teflon, there were frequent warnings about discontinuing use of pans that had damaged coatings. The coatings now are much harder and more durable.

“Seasoning” being an an ancient male ritual involving drinking significant quantities of beer, pouring frequent libations of beer onto the grill while invoking the blessings of the great pantheon of BBQ gods, and recounting mostly true BBQ adventures to fellow suppliants gathered for the seasoning ritual.

Exactly, it goes with the cleansing effects of oyster drippage, cheese overrun, and sauce ala toomuch.

“Some stores use the pay a quarter to get a cart.”

It does not cost a quarter to use a cart. You insert a quarter into a slot which releases your cart from a chained together series of carts. When you bring your cart back and link up with the other carts in the corral, after you load your car, you get your own quarter returned.

If someone leaves a cart somewhere in the parking lot an enterprising person would probably either use it and take that quarter when they were finished or push it back and take the quarter.

It’s such a simple solution. There are no carts all over the parking lot at grocery stores that use this strategy. Some ShopRites and Aldis use it.

When I lived in Berlin you had to put a Euro coin to release the cart and when you returned it you got your coin back from the latch. Quite effective. There would be some enterprising bums or kids who would politely ask to return the cart for you to keep the Euro. BUT of course ANYTHING done to secure carts will be called “THATS RAYCISS”
