I will freely admit, I am NOT a software person! I prefer tools I can touch. But I recently bought a small 3D printer, thinking it might help with some of my prototyping. I’m still figuring it out, hopefully that program will help.
Much easier when starting out to just download something close and then just “tweak it” to what you need. Try looking here:
There are videos on Youtube that show you how to do all sorts of things with it. You do not need to and in fact cannot log into an Autodesk account with it anymore.
My favorite simple trick is to download a threaded screw or bolt file from https://www.mcmaster.com/ import it into whatever project that I need threads in, place it in just the right spot then subtract it from the object.
