Thank you for your suggestion. That might be a good suggestion for my friend who has gotten married since I put together his Creality printer. But after the difficulty we had getting the “self-leveling” sensor to work with the current motherboard I am doubtful he would go for it. But he uses his in a detached shop anyway.
And as far as I can tell he seems to still be making his casting plugs out of foam and wood. I don't think that he has really gotten the hang of designing or printing. It is one of those things that a lot of people run into, the dream is more alluring than the reality.
He is working on a sailboat that he is planning on sailing around the world with. He thought that the 3D printer would be a good thing to have along, but I think that a smaller one would be more appropriate. Now he wants some type of multi-function CNC device instead. I tried to tell him that CNC has a whole different set of challenges.
