The last thing I watched on PBS was years ago , Danger UXB
Thanks I will look it up. Ken Burns does breath life into history. Certainly from a left perspective, but not without vaule.
PBS can shove it up their community Obamaholes.
Shove often, shove deep.
Nope. But lemme guess...was Benjamin Franklin a....RACIST?
Ken is just has a slicker delivery than most when “re-interpreting” history.
I am a history buff, and his spin is consistently leftist.
It’s not on my PBS stations. I Checked 2 of them.
I’m surprised they’re honoring Ben Franklin during Gender Bender month.
Usually they try to stick to a steady diet of gender bending.
Have they got to the part yet where Franklin invents global warming?
I remember somewhere, someplace I heard that ole Benny was quite the player. He was quoted about going to England on trips to parlay with George III that he’d always look forward to going out on London town to do what he called “a-whoring”.
I respected the guy even more after hearing that.
I read his autobiography when I was 14 or 15. I think it’s time I re-read that. He was a very interesting person.
Why doesn’t Ken Burns do a deep and thorough investigative documentary into the life of George Floyd, Michael Brown, or Trayvon Martin? Those are heroes of our time after all.
Or does he prefer to do documentaries about white people.
Well as sure as the sun rises, it became all about slavery in the last 30-45 minutes.
I realize that slavery was an important issue during those times, and that it was a complicated story with southern states and northern states, but it was not the top concern of the founders of our country. They were resisting tyrrany.
NFS is setting in...
I left at 10 minutes about slavery in this documentary. I’m waiting for sexism, national origin, and handicap to be added at a later date. Also I think all the STDs and whores that Benjamin had should’ve been played up for a better ratings
let me know how far in the get until the call him a ‘deist.’
Ken Burns will work in how bad ol Ben was and that he hated black people.
Unfortunately it is too faced paced, necessary for television unfortunately. And the commentators were somewhat racially typecast.
But given today's cesspool of movie and media crap, this is an outstanding exception.
Ken Burns: Student of History—or Left-Wing Gasbag?
Often accused of obsession with race, Burns has described himself as “a privileged white man,” and once said, “Like the amputated limb felt long after it has been cut off, I miss Trayvon Martin.”
“I’ve been dealing with the question of race in every subject,” Burns admitted in an interview, and told a National Endowment for the Humanities audience, “Race percolates close to the surface in nearly every project I’ve worked on.”
