Yes. The democrats have done an excellent job of getting a huge number of Americans hooked on government handouts. Once someone is receiving government benefits they are very likely to vote democrat in order to preserve their money stream.
The fact that few “conservatives” still argue that Soc Sec and Medicare are not allowed by the Constitution shows that at best we have a Tory-like residue of Conservatism in place.
