...awarded him a new car...No need for a train any more.

I used to take what is now the Red Line back in the ‘80s when I had to. I got off at Garfield (55th) which was bad enough. 69th that far west is pretty feral.

...awarded him a new car... Which will be too expensive to actually utilize on a daily basis due to gas prices. If only we had access to more oil somewhere...
Props to the young man for his heroism. He took action instead of just standing there recording the situation on his phone.

What a great story. Refreshing!
God bless and protect him (obviously He already has protected him) and his family and loved ones. Amen.

Perry told the media that he typically had a 90 minute commute to his job at an Amazon Fresh in Oak Lawn in suburban Chicago, taking two buses and a train. Good kid, hope he can soon move out of Chicago......

He could have done a lot worse. /s
Heartwarming, considering the nature of all the crimes we’re reading about and seeing in video/stills this year.
Chicago still has a soul despite the obvious.

If the man “fell” on the tracks while fighting, where is the person who caused that fall? Aggravated assault and attempted murder charges seem in order. The Good Samaritan risked his own life (and health - electric shocks enough to feel through your body can cause organ damage) due to at least one scumbag’s criminal behavior.

Nice to see this, especially in Chicago.
