You have to be using Thunderbird 91.8.0 or higher, which was released 5th April 2022. If you weren’t using OAuth2, you have to reconfigure authentication.

it’s because google stopped supporting all authentication methods except oauth2 ...

upgrading old Tbirds to the latest TB (91.9.1) has been a nightmare for thousands because simply upgrading doesn’t work because old TBs leave behind multiple incompatible config files ...
