An Arizona man has used the sweltering desert heat of his home state to reportedly cook burgers and steaks — and even bake a cake — inside his 200-degree car.

Joe Brown, from Phoenix, has attracted millions of viewers to his unconventional cooking show on TikTok.

The 20-year-old’s culinary experiments began in March 2020, as the coronavirus pandemic forced many people his age back home for lockdown. Brown started by using the roof of his home as an environmental oven before shifting his trials to his car in April this year.

It’s just a guess, but I have a feeling his creations have a distinctive marihuana flavoring.

Unfortunately, here in Phoenix that is a real possibility. I find it interesting that the numerous pot shop billboards don't have ANYthing resembling a health warning or an abuse warning. The ads are colorful and humorous like the cigarette ads were warned NOT to be.

Even when pot was for medical use only in AZ, half the billboards were for pot pizza, cannabis burgers, marijuana coffee and drinks, marijuana infused candy, etc. I've never seen any other "drug" treated in such a manner. A space alien would think it was "pumpkin spice" or chipotle or something.

My Dad used to take his lunch to the steel mill in a canning quart jar. It was usually a soup or a stew. He would set it near the blast furnace so it would be hot at lunchtime.

Fun with waste heat, lol.

When I was a kid I worked in a meat processing plant. Carving up carcasses as they moved down a conveyor belt. The belt's motors ran quite hot. You can guess.

Same place has a blast freezer. A warm can of soda placed in front of the fan.. 30 second to real cold, wow!

A lot of my family worked in the steel mills.

Unless he is using some kind of solar device it does not get that hot inside a car in AZ, although I do believe you could slow cook in a car here.

I’ve heated a lot of food on an exhaust manifold on road trips. Also knew a driller who made really tasty stews and foil-packet meals on the rig motor.

not steak. I cook beef tenderloin at this temp for 4 to 6 hours. Comes out perfect. Hamburger might be a little risky at that temp tho.
