The Structural Legal Rot Runs Deep
American Thinker ^ | 5 Jun, 2022 | Clarice Feldman

Left-wing rot goes to the very heart of our legal system.

With the likelihood of a Republican tsunami at the midterms, some are already spinning wish lists of structural changes they hope will begin to take shape. Without wishing to rain on their -- or your -- parade, I’d like to point out how deep by now the structural rot goes. It’s beyond the collapse of academia and K-12 education, the evisceration of our military, government waste, the dysfunction of our health system, and the one-sidedness of media coverage. It goes to the very heart of our legal system.

This week Peter Navarro was charged by a D.C. grand jury for contempt of Congress for refusing to cooperate with the House Select Committee, a purely partisan confection of Nancy Pelosi in violation of all the traditional House rules, and a clear propaganda operation. (Mark Meadows and Dan Scavino, Jr. cooperated to some extent and were spared. The committee also referred them for prosecution, but the department of Justice declined to prosecute them.)

The charge against Navarro is a misdemeanor process crime but with significant possible consequences.

Instead of following the normal procedure in such cases of notifying the person charged and allowing them to report for processing, the FBI affected to humiliate him, arrested him as he was boarding a plane and publicly handcuffing him and placing him in leg irons.

Powerline reminds us how Attorney General Eric Holder was treated when Congress held him in contempt:

I hate to even think it, but I fear it’s going to take an Octavian or an American Pinochet to fix this.

All appointees and managers at the FBI and DOJ should be fired when Trump gets back in office.

Replace FBI with Internal Affairs folks working in other jurisdictions and the DOJ with constitutional attorneys.

Faced with Biden vetoes and executive orders, I don’t expect much from a Republican House and Senate majority.

Sorry folks, it is over. The American experiment is finished.

There is no way to drain the swamp. Nobody has a proposal that would not be overturned by the courts.

Fire everyone? Courts would stop that.
Prosecute? We know nobody goes to jail
Constitutional Convention? Subverted by RINOs

“Sorry folks, it is over. The American experiment is finished.”

I am sad to admit you are correct.
I cannot think of one institution that has not been so corrupted over the past 20-30 years that it can be reformed. Business, Law, Education, Entertainment, Sports, Politics, Government, Churches and on and on.
I agree, The Great American Experiment is Finished

Totally agree Erik.

My mom was an FBI typist in WWII and saw it all planned by the communists, and their plans have mostly succeeded as blind and dumb Americans passively let the Dems and all their weird factions have their way, and the commie sympathizers in the GOP have “gone along”.

Only divine intervention can stop this.

The rot didn’t happen overnight and won’t be fixed quickly. It takes good people and work over a sustained period of time.

I believe you are correct. There is but one way left, but that is too unpalatable for implementation. We are approaching the culdesac on the “road to serfdom”.

It is in the nature of Man that some will claim superiority and work to that end bifurcating Society into Monarchs and the Mob.

Eventually the Monarchs abuse the Mob unto rebellion.

We are at that point in History; awaiting the Sweet Song of the Guillotine.

Not that I remember.....she passed in 2012 at 96.....wonderful woman.....many of her friends were members of the John Birch Society in early 60’s, but she felt she should never join.

There is no man I would trust with absolute power, not even Trump. A flawed republic is better than no republic. Also, if installing the American Pinochet fails or if it succeeds but the American Pinochet is assassinated, then we will have set the precedent for the left to put in their own dictator for life. No thanks.

“Sorry folks, it is over. The American experiment is finished.”

True that. The final step is disarmament.
