I have been on an educational program or two w her over the years. One time, a colleague and I drove her from Hays to Manhattan, KS. That was a memorable trip with interesting conversation.

The person spoken of is named Temple Grandin. There is a very good movie about her, and changes to the animal industry.
Ms. Grandin is a livestock psychologist who has revolutionized the process of keeping animals calm as they enter the slaughter house, right up to the moment they are killed. Safer for handlers and livestock and the meat is of much better quality.
This is in the interests of the meat packers, regardless of who their laborers are.
