That is excessive. I’ve lived completely on Solar myself, only needed 1600watts and 1200 amp-hrs of battery. While it is self contained, it is definitely not green, when you calculate what goes into your system.

I have 4000+ sqft dual zone AC and 7 freezers and fridges plus a 1500 sqft three bedroom guest house all on 20 acres so not for me, the guest house has another 10,000 worth of panels they both back feed the grid and neither has a power bill I send back more than we use at night by far. I even leased a tesla for a year and charged that. One of my side hussles with a couple buddies is solar systems. They had the idea, I had the LLC and venture capital so now I’m mostly a semi silent partner. We get solar at wholesale rates with my TIN numbers it’s a fraction of what retail costs are. A $40,000 retail system is 1/3 that in actual components. We make a killing on the install and financing. It’s money in my pocket love it.
