The Covid risk of severe illness for children is so tiny that it is even smaller than the risk of side effects from the vaccine in small children.

On a related issue, at least two fully-vaccinated (liberal) women I know became significantly ill with Covid-like symptoms after returning from a few days partying in Las Vegas. One of the women now lives in DC and flew back to DC from Seattle despite having actual symptoms, which she apparently concealed from airline staff and security people. Despite being sick, she was allowed to fly because her vax status allowed her to bypass a Covid test.

This shows once again how irrational all of this has become. Asymptomatic people who test positive are grounded, whereas a vaccinated person who is actually sick is allowed to fly.
