Twenty-two summers ago, I took my family via AMTRAK to CHI and stayed in a small hotel about a block off of Michigan Ave. We traveled everywhere by bus or train on CTA, including a Cubs game, Billy Goat Tavern, Taste of Chicago, Shedd Aquarium, Field Museum, and the Museum of Science & Industry. I should be arrested today if I even thought about doing that same trip with my grandkids.

1981 I first visited Chicago for my industry trade show at the Mart. I loved Chicago! After show hours our sales team took clients to cigar lounge restaurants and walked in the city finding below ground level jazz clubs with the greatest jazz musicians which we were blessed to enjoy! Took a boat excursion out onto the lake…. I came home and told my hubby we needed to go back for a vacay..we never did, and beautiful Chicago has been driven into the ground by leftist idiocy. So very sad.
