As I said on another site, the Old Corps was defined as being issued an older weapon when you came in, as in: "When I came in, I was issued an 03 Springfield - now THAT was a real rifle - Boot".

The new definition of being in the Old Corps is back when men fought the enemy, the ladies stayed home, and deviants stayed the hell away.

An old gunny of mine said "When I first came in, those people were given an immediate discharge. Then, they could stay in, if they didn't tell anybody what they were. Now, they can stay in no matter what, and I'm getting out before it becomes mandatory!"
