An Ohio woman was gored by a bison after she got within 10 feet of the animal in Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming, officials said.
The 25-year-old woman, whose name has not been released, suffered puncture wound and other injuries Monday after she approached a bison near a boardwalk at Black Sand Basin, park officials said in a news release. "Consequently, the bison gored the woman and tossed her 10 feet into the air"

According to the article, the National Park service advises people to stay away from certain animal and gives the distance to be safe in case of emergency.
If you can’t figure out a 1000+ pound animal with horns might be dangerous when you’re 15 feet away from it and getting closer, you deserve to be gored and flung around like a ragdoll.

Bison can’t really see too good beyond maybe thirty or forty yards which is why they’re very skittish when anything gets too close.

When this happens I’m always reminded of the Penguins from the movie “Madagascar” whenever they saw the tourists the leader would say “Cute and Cuddly Boys, Cute and Cuddly” and they’d all smile and the crowd would ohh and ahh.

I have a feeling she was less than 10 feet away. Difficult to gore someone from 10 feet, but then again its CNN what do you expect.

The bison charged her at 10 feet I think is what they are trying to say.

I have a friend with a commercial herd of 80+ adults. They work them like cattle and are around buffalo all the time. The guys NEVER EVER let their guard down.
Buffalo are incredibly strong and quick. One day one bull hook another and tossed it over an 8-foot pipe fence.The “tossee” hopped up and looked around as if nothing unusual had happened.
She apparently got a coup [more severe of course] that she apparently was seeking.
