It appears that the FBI provided input to Jeff Session that influenced his decision to recuse himself from the Russia, Russia Russia investigation. Now we know that at the time, they knew it was all lies and lied to Sessions to get him out of the way.

They wanted their own controllable guy assigned as a special counsel.

Hm. I remember at the time something that Sessions was also spied on and that was why he recused himself. I’ll look up some Q drops and see what turns up. May his recusal had more than one reason.
