Quality is still great but has been dropping.

A friend of mine works for Longo Toyota which claims to be the world’s largest car dealership. They can’t get enough new vehicles to satisfy the demand. It’s been that way for months. And if you have a good used car to sell you can get more than you paid for it.
Chip issue. My local Toyota dealership can’t get new ones on the lot.

100% Chip Shortage - most dealers have orders for customers booked for the rest of 2002.
Many dealers have stopped taking orders and putting customers on the waiting list.
This won’t be cleared up until 2024.
Maybe they should drop out of NASCAR, since the cars they race are nothing like what they sell. You can’t get a V8 in any of the cars they sell.
Anecdotal, but driving through Clermont Florida yesterday, I noticed every car dealership had a full lot except for the Toyota dealer.
Toyota might be the only major automaker still making new ICE vehicles. Their leadership is still skeptical of the current EV technology while all the other automakers have drank the kool-aid.
