“Email holders aren’t their actual customers.”

No, email holders are their products... You are what they sell to corporations so they can target you with their ads.

The corporations are their actual customers.

I’ve had exactly the same thing happen to my Yahoo account. Fortunately, I had backed up all the emails and haven’t used that account in years. I get the same thing. It says enter your email and will send the verification code to that email address. I Evan made up a fake one that nobody could possibly have and it says it is sending the email to that address. Obviously it is not checking to see if that is the recovery email on the account. This all started when it forced an update of the app through Google play. I think it is a scam to force you to pay for recovery help

Yahoo, like CNN and MSNBC, is a left wing organization.

Yep.

Problem #1 - yahoo

Problem #2 - internet provider

Not many local providers. First was slower than Christmas.
Second one was off more than on with two dozen offs a day but got the privilege of paying them full price.

Third one bought out second one so better service but twice the price at half the service. They’ve kept the previous thingamajigs like the old emails but haven’t a clue how they work. They “lost” the original email for 2 years but it mysteriously was put back in service recently and today they don’t know how to find my blocked email list so I can’t find out if yahoo is blocked.

WARNING - I’ve been trying to change email addresses and make passwords bat crazy at sites I visit but 1 of 3 will zap an email to the hacked yahoo email without asking so they’ve screwed me all over again.

1 of the remaining 2 won’t accept account changes so you have to make a new account while losing everything you’ve ever done there.

Any left will let you chat online but Mohamed can’t type English. Thankfully, Pablo Miguel and Chantese can type English.

Thanks for everyone’s help.

This advice also applies to hotmail account users. Lots of hacking going on there also.

I am not a fan of Microsoft, but was using Hotmail before they acquired it.

Since I quit Yahoo and migrated to Hotmail I've NEVER had a problem with the account and almost never get any junk mail.

All mail accounts are subject to being hacked due to user laziness; Yahoo's is more vulnerable for other reasons exposed previously in this forum and elsewhere.

Hotmail/Outlook are not in that same category, though I am considering migrating once again for other reasons.

“Inside job.”

Yep... I quit Yahoo when Obama was running the first time because they sent me an email that basically said “We do not read emails but reserve the right to block accounts that send or receive malicious content”.

How would they know if it was malicious content if they don’t read them? Support would not answer that one when I asked...
