It's conceivable she didn't put her hands up when she got out of the carjacked car, after the guy took off. And it's conceivable that it wasn't obvious she was pregnant. If she was.
The one assertion I don't see is a statement that the vehicle was her car. So I conclude for now that it wasn't, and she was one of the carjackers, and the newsies are trying to spin the story as if she were an innocent bystander (in someone else's car?) and the cops were just crazy.

I agree, There is too much unexplained in this story to judge anyone involved.
