Yes, just as legitimate as if Quisling had announced that Norway had “decided” to be annexed by Nazi Germany.

Looting grain FROM a conquered territory and sending it the invader’s home country is just like the Marshal Plan, which sent aid TO the liberated countries ? Seriously?!?! Also, if there is a modern counterpart to Nazi Germany, it’s Putin’s Russia.

There’s no “from” “to” - Kherson is Russia now. Ukraine took the gamble, bet on NATO, and lost it forever. If Russia didn’t clear those silos the incoming harvest would rot with no place to store it. You should be more concerned that Biden tried to force Ukraine to ship 20 million tons to Europe to lower prices and save their asses. At least now it stays local and will feed the people who grew it.

The EU and US have been stealing all kinds of Russian assets lately. You just don’t hear much about it.

This is what happens as a result and why they didn’t expect Russia to do some of the same is perplexing.

That is if this Reuters article is the truth which is at question with any any article anymore.

At least we both agree it’s theft.

Usually when you control a region or another country you consider what you won as yours. Most governments, including our own, do not worry about noble concepts.

Sad thing about the world, but it has been that way for a very long time. The spoils of war go to the winner.

The spoils of war go to the winner.

Given their demographics, rate of aging and demonstrated military capability, they might want to keep that sentiment top of mind going forward.

Russia has not yet formally annexed Kherson, so under both international law and even Russian law it remains occupied territory of a foreign country. But your mindset is clear, whatever the Russian army conquers is “Russia”, just the same as whatever the German Wehrmacht conquered was part of Greater German Reich. Today’s Russia and yesterday’s Nazi Germany are peas in a pod.
