Interesting. Working alongside my FVEY colleague in the Pentagon, I could have sworn we were doing good work by coordinating the intelligence sharing, the turning over certain assets for joint operations, and the planning of intelligence operations with our partners: So that war plans actually work.
Who else is going to do it? Do we adopt a posture where we don’t share with our allies in the most efficient manner possible?
But screw it. What do I know? Congress allowed the CIA to spy on themselves and didn’t do shiite. It should have been burnt to the ground and placed under military leadership. When Congress doesn’t exercise their proper oversight, why are we surprised sovereignty takes a hit and institutions are turned against us?
This is on the HPSCI and the SSCI. Now take a look at both of those committees. It is a Who’s Who of the most POS legislators in Congress: and that is laid at the feet of the electorate.
Allies coordinating against foreign targets is one thing. But US Intel community trash making deals with foreign nations that they will spy on Americans in ways prohibited to the US agencies, and then forward everything our agencies as a way for them to skirt US law, is not “doing good work”.
It’s doing Stasi work. It’s like some kind of Central American or East German kind of thinking.
” allowed the CIA to spy on themselves and didn’t do shiite. It should have been burnt to the ground and placed under military leadership. “
Nailed it. Our intel was far more in line with the values of old America when military intelligence was was running things. More of a problem with guys like Milley and Clapper around these days. But Admiral Rogers was the only one who stood up to the CIA when they tried to frame Trump as winning due to solicited Russian interference.
