Indeed. Also, be aware that a bronze star for service is not the same as bronze star with “V” device for valor in combat. Not unusual for the plain bronze star to be awarded for service, depending on rank and status as a celebrity son.
Speaking as a retired soldier . . .
It offends me to hear a person “wins” a medal, whether for service or valor. Those medals are intended to be ‘earned” by either exceptional performance in a service capacity or exceptional bravery in combat.
