We’re all guilty of speculation, myself included.
But NOBODY at 18 with a ‘zero’ credit score nets a credit limit sufficient to buy what he possessed.

I haven’t read anywhere that his credit score was ‘zero’; is that fact or speculation? I also think it’s quite possible his grandmother or another adult cosigned on his credit card application.
Ding ding of course the killer didn’t walk into the local gun store and buy stuff, easiest way is buy off the street
That’s not true at all. At 18 I had an American Express card with no preset limits. I had been working full time since 16 so two years of work history as no Where near minimum wages. If you are not a Dr ad beat Amex will gladly give you a substantial line of credit. Four decades later I hold a Amex black card my membership.date is in the 1980s I love the look on people’s faces when you whip out the black and they see a 40 year membership.date.
That’s irrelevant to this story there already was an extensive write up on how this kid took a job at Wendy’s to save for guns he creeped his co-workers out talking about it all the time. They said he told them as soon as he had enough money he was.gone. $4000 is not that long of a time at $13 he which is what fast-food.pays now or more. The local Chic fil A is $15 plus now
He used a debit card, not a credit card. He worked full time at Wendys, he lived with grandma didn’t pay rent.
