There’s plenty to question about the police response, but preventing unknown numbers of unarmed, unprepared, emotionally overwrought parents to go into the building isn’t one of them.

It’s entirely understandable why the parents wanted to go in, but unfortunately, they had to be prevented from doing so.

Now, maybe the parents wouldn’t have tried to go in if the police had responded to the situation more aggressively, but I tend to think that even if a swat team had gone straight in, the parents would still have tried to go in as well.

If the cops took action parent had no need to go in.

You made my point. Parents would try to go in regardless. Their child’s safety was paramount.
Cops, had a choice and they chose to, or were told to WAIT. The Cop’s safety was paramount to that of a child.
