“Sit outside and listen to the birds singing and the children laughing.”
I was about 18. Jimmy Carter years. My old man was bemoaning the state of the nation, and told me that I shouldn’t bring any children into the world and subject them to it.
I told him “Lets go for a walk around the lake and listen to the birds and look at the water and the nature.” He chuckled with a sparkle in his eye and a nod of his head that said “Yes, I suppose you’re right.”
