If there really is a shortage, Russia/Putin gets all the blame. BlackRock, Union Pacific and any domestic firm aiding the shortages will get a pass.
I’ll be interested to read additional comments and info, as this is this is the first I’ve heard of this aspect of diesel trucking.

Farm combines use it too judging from the farm videos I watch. The farmers always has a comment about it too. I read that DEF gives better fuel mileage but...

“If the DEF is stored at ambient temperatures of 75 F with no major periods of exposure to heat over 86 F then the batch of DEF will last roughly two years. If a package of DEF is exposed to periods of heating the fluid will last approximately one year”

I know a few ltl truckers. After a certain year/make there is a light in the cab that goes on regarding the DEF. (Something about getting low and cold?). Can harm the engine.
