I’ve seen some conservative estimates that say the Russians are spending about a billion per day. I don’t recall what their gas sales were to Europe, but they exceeded that. Still, it’s a lot of stuff they can’t easily replace while the embargo is in force. Take apart analysis says their stuff is full of components bought from the West. Apparently, their only tank manufacturer has shut down due to sanctions.

There was an article posted yesterday allegedly showing a trainload of T-62s being brought out of storage for delivery to the troops. They have lots of old T-72s in storage but I seem to remember that the periodic maintenance for these vehicles was very poor, if existent at all, and that a very high proportion of them were not serviceable to the extent that they would require complete refitting and/or rebuilding - major components missing. When they are bringing out T-62s from reserve storage they are hurting!

I read that the Russians annually spend $80 billion on defense. If they are burning up $1 billion per day, they’re operating in the red now.
