Assuming a twelve hour day, he was lighting up about every 6 minutes he was awake. I cannot imagine something having so much control over one’s life.
I just saw a YouTube video the other day about alcoholic actors. Michael Landon was an alcoholic that also smoked 4 packs/day. Died of pancreatic cancer at 54.
I smoked 5-6 packs a day for 20 years. Quit at age 38 when I thought I’d had a heart attack. I didn’t but it scared me off tobacco. That was 35 years ago.
