“I am relieved to read of the actions of the CBP agent and tactical team in the deadly intervention that stopped the shooter.”
Do you think teachers (some anyway) should have a weapon in the classroom?
“Do you think teachers (some anyway) should have a weapon in the classroom?”
Absolutely...no doubt. There are some TX districts that have done this and some in OK (where I live) have also done the same. Both are in accordance with the authorizing state law. Unfortunately, most of these are in very rural settings and a prime impetus for the school board to do this was the amount of time required for a police response to their location. It seems a much taller hill to climb to get this in effect in less-than-rural settings, IMO.
Think about it, the cops brought weapons to the scene to take the shooter out but it was too late. Mass casualties by the time they got there.
It was too late.
That's one of the biggest problems with "gun control". It disarms the innocent and makes them into sitting ducks. The police are never going to arrive in time to save them.
Criminals and mentally ill people? They don't care about any stinking gun control laws. Look at Chicago for example - dozens gunned down every weekend. Due to the strict gun control laws in place, the criminals are confident that nobody law-abiding is going to get in their way.
