I was in my late teens in early 80s working in health club where Piscapo and Eddie Murphy regularly worked out. Piscapo was an extremely nice guy. Always respectful, worked out hard and just gave off a good guy vibe. Murphy was very reserved. Some would say shy even. He was usually surrounded by a bit of an entourage. He was never a jerk or demanding. Just much more quiet.
Piscapo has a NY radio show now. Pretty conservative red pill guy.
I am not surprised by either characterization, from what I have read in the past.
I think Eddie Murphy underestimated his own talent, and feared doing straight drama. I think he would have done very well.
