Don’t you think you were going a little overboard? This was obviously a freak accident. Unfortunately, people can get hurt when they decide to flee the police and resist arrest.
This was not an accident, it resulted from intentional acts with reckless disregard for the victim's life on the part of the police. Extreme negligence would be what I'd call it and it should certainly be charged as criminal negligence. If he dies it would be criminally negligent homicide.
There's no way for anyone in their right mind to defend this.
How is this “fleeing the police” when the biker dude is stopping to gas up? Seems like the cops got the wrong guy. In any case what was wrong with just blocking him in with their cruisers? The geniousity is rampant.
