Newly released body camera footage reveals the sickening moment a deputy and a dirt bike rider were engulfed in flames after the officer fired a taser at a gas station.
Deputy David Crawford was heard screaming in pain and begging his fellow officers to 'put out' the fire on his legs as he desperately rolled around.
Meanwhile his victim, dirt bike rider Jean Barreto, 26, was 'cooked alive' in the fireball which left him with third-degree burns on approximately 75% of his body.
Both remain in hospital after the February 27 incident at the Wawa gas station in Florida. But Crawford will likely face misdemeanor charges of culpable negligence for igniting the explosion, Osceola County Sheriff Marco López said.
Police are also planning to charge Barreto with several charges, including resisting arrest, if he survives.
Osceola County Sheriff have released body cam footage of the incident this week under mounting pressure from the victim's family and the media.
The first is from Crawford's camera and shows him approaching the gas pumps where Barreto was filling his bike before tackling to the ground.
'Get off the bike! Get on the ground now,' Crawford can be heard yelling in the video as a fellow officer pulls out his Taser and fires it at him.
Footage shows gasoline pouring onto the ground after the officers failed to allow Barreto to put on his gas tank before they tackled him.
Crawford acknowledges the gas, saying: 'Kill the pump, kill the pump, there's gas' and his fellow officer drops the Taser.
But Crawford then picks it up, warning: 'You're about to get tasered again, dude,' the fires the Taser.

This is police out of control
Officer “not too bright” to put it in the vernacular.
I can’t believe someone this retarded (no offense to those with Tristomy 21) was even hired to be an officer.
We are not suppose to smoke, use a cell phone or other wise have a spark around a gas pump and this dirty rotten imbecile thinks it’s okay to use a tazer? Twice no less? How did he make it out of grade school? Much less the police academy?
Sorry I was so angry I could not even put make a sentence logically in that post. I’m so angry I can’t think strait. The man they try to arrest is lying there burning to death and he’s on fire begging his fellow officers to put HIM out too. I just can’t you all I just can’t.
Stories like these make it tough to back the Blue.
No matter what they charge the kid with, the police dept is culpable for any injuries resulting in the neglect from the arrest.
The law suit will be large.
I would fire the cop who used that taser if I was in charge, and fire the other officers for neglect.
Had some sympathy for the motorcycle guy....until I watched the chase video and saw a motorcycle menace. Now it’s “play stupid games, win stupid prizes”. Dogma run over by karma comes to mind.
Hey Ossifer, why do signs around gas pumps say turn off engine? Cuz a spark might ignite gas or fumes to go boom. What happens when you fire electric taser at a guy pumping gas? Now you know the rest of the story, Ossifer.
If a policeman comes near you, the only response is to defend yourself. They are murderers.

My guess is they told him to get off the bike and he didn’t.
Taser and gas station, bad combo bad decisions and bad outcome .
The deputy who fired the taser and sparked the blaze has been charged with “culpable negligence”, a misdemeanor.
I stopped backing the blue in the early ‘90s when I lived on a Hawaiian island, and was a volunteer working with abused women and their kids.
I can’t even understand this take down. Come up behind him and grabbing him? The dude must have thought he was being robbed or something.
He wasn’t going anywhere HE WAS OUT OF GAS. So officer Barney Fife sneaks up on him and tries to grab him? Just so beyond stupid. Then fires a tazer as the man is pumping gas?
