I was driving past a golf course in a convertible and got hit in the shoulder by a golf ball. Given the speed of the car vs the speed of the ball, I would have been real messed up had it hit my head.
I don’t golf so they couldn’t make a case that I knew the risk. I was staying at the hotel for a convention.
Since the injury was not a bruise, I laughed it off.
I was 16 and had just gotten my license. I was driving on the road parallel to a hole at the local country club when a ball landed not far in front of me (coming right at me) and bounded right over my car from bow to stern. If I’d been at that spot a fraction of a second sooner, it would have come right through the windshield and I probably wound’t be here to tell the tale. That was damn scary and I still remember it 54 years later! God was with me that day.
